Mehek is an indian born, london based, writer-director & advertising creative.
For over eight years, she’s crafted deeply layered stories across documentary, commercial and now - narrative too.
Her commercial directing blends lived-in realism with bursts of heightened stylization. Whether working with A-list talent like Paloma Faith or first-time performers such as young Muslim skateboarders, she brings a rare curiosity to character-driven storytelling. She’s often commissioned for culture-led, socially engaged stories. This approach has earned her commercial acclaim with clients including ON, GetYourGuide, and Amazon Music.
As an advertising creative, she subverts dominant narratives through the lens of subcultures and communities that challenge them. Described as “an idea machine,” she has crafted campaigns for Expedia, Unmind, TEDx, Netflix, and Vogue.
Her documentary short, SKATER UKTIS has been acquired by Al Jazeera after screening at BAFTA and Academy Award qualifying festivals including- Aesthetica Film Festival, London Indian Film Festival, Tasveer Film Festival, and more. She’s been selected for Pitching Sessions with BBC Film and shortlisted for the Slick Films Fund 2024.
Currently, she is developing narrative projects that explore male accountability, unboundaried women, and solidarity in the everyday. She is particularly drawn to South Asian perspectives.
